Terms of Service

Welcome to SafeJAM Ltd. By accessing or using our service, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read these Terms of Service carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our service, you must declare that you are aged 18 or over and acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use the service.

2. Access to the Service

Access to our service only requires a verified email address. We deliberately do not collect any other personal data about you.

The service allows you to use applications hosted on remote infrastructure powered by AWS Appstream technology. This allows remote applications to be isolated from your local device, enhancing compatibility, security and privacy.

3. Payment and Billing

All payments for the service are processed securely using Stripe. We do not store any payment card details on our systems. When you subscribe to the service, you will be redirected to a Stripe-hosted checkout page to enter your payment details. For more information on how Stripe handles your payment data, please refer to their Privacy Policy.

You can access paid invoices, manage your payment methods, and subscriptions, directly through Stripe. You will be redirected to a Stripe-hosted portal for these actions. To cancel your subscription, update payment details, or view billing information and paid invoices, use the link(s) provided from your profile page.

4. Account Management and Deletion

When you create an account, it is stored in an AWS Cognito user pool. This allows us to securely manage user authentication and authorisation. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including using strong passwords and protecting your login credentials.

If you wish to delete your account, you may do so from within your profile settings. This will remove your email address and associated data from our systems, including data stored in AWS Cognito.

5. Prohibited Activities

Users are prohibited from engaging in any of the following activities while using our service:

  • Illegal Activities: You must not use the service to engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to the distribution of malware, hacking, phishing, or any other activity that violates UK law or international law.
  • Security Violations: You must not attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with any security features of the service, AWS Appstream, AWS Cognito, or our payment processor, Stripe.
  • Harmful Content: You must not use the service to transmit, store, or display any content that is harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Resource Abuse: You must not use the service in a manner that consumes excessive system resources or interferes with the service performance for other users, including launching denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or conducting automated scraping activities.

6. Service Availability and Limitation of Liability

While we strive to provide reliable and uninterrupted service, we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. The service is provided "as-is" without any warranties or guarantees. AWS Appstream, which powers the service, may experience issues resulting in downtime, which may be outside of our control.

We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from the use or inability to use the service, including but not limited to service interruptions, data breaches, or other technical issues.

7. Purchase Information and History

When you make a purchase, the transaction details are logged in our database to provide you with a history of your purchases within your profile. We do not share this information with third parties, except where absolutely necessary to deliver the service (e.g. transmitting data to AWS Appstream for technical service delivery).

Purchases are valid for 90 days from the time of purchase. The expiry date is clearly shown on your profile page in line with the purchase details and 'connect' button used to connect to the service. After 90 days, the 'active session' will be moved to the 'session history' tab in the profile page.

8. Session Duration and Activity

Your session duration initially aligns to the purchased session duration. At any time during the session you have the option to extend the session by using the payment links provided within the session. Sessions have a maximum duration of 12 hours. If you are disconnected after 12 hours, any remaining paid minutes of your session time can be used by clicking 'connect' on the profile page and starting a new session. All sessions go into a disconnected state after 15 minutes of inactivity. You can reconnect to the same session if you reconnect within the next 15 minutes. After 30 minutes, you must start a new session.

9. Session Content

You are solely responsible for any content that you consume, upload, share, or transmit while using our service and that it complies with all applicable laws.

10. Data Privacy and Usage

We respect your privacy and collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide our service. For detailed information about how we handle your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy. However, your use of the service must comply with our data usage terms:

  • Personal Data: You must not use the service to publish, collect or harvest personal data without appropriate legal consent.
  • Tracking and Analytics: We do not track activity in remote sessions unless legally required to do so. We do track time limits for remote sessions according to the purchased duration. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with remote session control features or analytics for our service.

11. Security and Data Protection

Your use of the service must comply with security best practices. You are responsible for safeguarding the security of your account, including the use of strong passwords and keeping your login credentials private.

  • AWS Cognito Security: User authentication is managed through AWS Cognito. You are required to keep your AWS Cognito account information secure and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
  • AWS Appstream: Remote application sessions are delivered via AWS Appstream. AWS Appstream ensures isolation of applications from your local machine. You must not attempt to manipulate or exploit this infrastructure in any way.
  • Stripe Payments: All payment information is processed securely through Stripe. You must not attempt to circumvent or interfere with the secure processing of payments.

12. Network Abuse

Users must not use our service to engage in network abuse, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Denial-of-Service Attacks: You must not use the service to conduct or support DoS or DDoS attacks.
  • Spam: You must not use the service to send or facilitate the sending of unsolicited or bulk commercial emails (spam).
  • Automated Data Scraping: You must not use the service for automated scraping of websites or services that you do not have explicit permission to access.

13. Consequences of Violations

Violations of these terms may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, and, where appropriate, legal action. We reserve the right to investigate any suspected violations and may cooperate with law enforcement authorities as required.

  • Account Suspension: In cases of suspected violations, we may suspend your account while the matter is investigated.
  • Account Termination: If a violation is confirmed, your account may be terminated without notice, and you may be barred from accessing the service in the future.
  • Legal Action: For serious violations, we may pursue legal action and cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.

14. Reporting Violations

If you believe that a user is violating these terms or if you have encountered any security incidents, please report the issue immediately by contacting us at securityandcompliance@safejam.com. We take all reports seriously and will investigate any suspected violations promptly.

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If significant changes are made, we will notify users via our website. By continuing to use the service after changes are made, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.
